The Darkest Minds Movie (my blog debut!)

Oh. My. Lord.

I stayed up allllll night last night creating this blog, and it got so late I didn't even get the chance to post something! Then I had to go to school (I was a wreck -- go to bed early on weekdays, kids) so I couldn't do it in the morning or during the day. Not until now, 4:30 pm in the afternoon, do I finally get to write my first ever blog post.

So. . .hey there! I suppose I should start with introducing myself. I'm E, and I am a huge dork/nerd/fangirl. I like to draw (or more specifically, I create little doodles all over my school books. I'm not very good at it). I also have an obsession with tv series such as Riverdale, Black Mirror, Stranger Things, Teen Wolf, Gilmore Girls and The 100, to name a few. I am a booknerd, but unfortunately my fellow family members and friends don't share the same love for books with me (they see reading as staring at a dead piece of wood with ink pressed onto it). That is sort of why I created this blog; it will work as an outlet for all my fangirling.

If you've read my little "about me" post (which I will upload soon) you already know this, in a slightly more summarized version. You will also know that I am sixteen and have a cat.

What you wouldn't know either way, though, is that I am a huge fan of Alexandra Bracken's book series The Darkest Minds! Well. . .now you know! (And if you haven't read the books yet: WHAT ARE YOU STILL DOING HERE??? Go read it and then come back here so we can stan together!)

And, deep breath, THEY'RE TURNING IT INTO A MOVIE!!!!

I actually found out they were going to make a movie out of it before I read the books, but all I really knew was that Amandla Stenberg was going to play Ruby, the main character. Anyways, I thought the books looked interesting and decided to read them. And let me tell you. . .I finished reading the whole trilogi plus all the novellas and short stories in a matter of days. That's how hooked I was. Still am.

The reason I brought this up is because I saw yesterday (Wednesday) on TDM's (the darkest minds') instagram that THE TRAILER COMES IN ONE. WEEK.

AAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH.

After months spent scrutinizing the pictures and snippets of video clips they have posted to the point where I started seeing them in my sleep, we not only get a clip with AUDIO ("If you can hear this, you're one of us. If you're one of us, you can find us." (EAST RIVER GOSH I STAN SO HARD)) -- but also the announcement that a trailer is coming in a week. SEVEN DAYS. Or actually, today is Thursday, so that makes it SIX measly days, aka 144 hours, aka 8640 minutes, aka 518 400 SECONDS (yes I totally just looked that up), until I can spend a whole night watching and rewatching the trailer.

The trailer will be a good consolation, because you know what happens next Wednesday? I'm getting braces! (made me think of this meme:)

I can't fully describe how freakin' excited I am!! I'm so looking forward to see the Black Betty Crew on the big screen, what Thurmond is going to look like, the PSI officers, Clancy. I wonder how they have chosen to portrayed Ruby's powers? And Liam's and Zu's and -- oh, I hope they don't make Zu talk!

I remember watching the movie of the book The 5th Wave (good book, recommend it) and realized that POUNDCAKE TALKED. He doesn't talk in the book. Got real disappointed, but otherwise I guess that book-to-movie transition was fine. Although I hope TDM will be better, more Hunger Games quality. (It's also important that many people go watch it, so the producers will get enough money to make a sequel)

I can't think of anything more to say at the moment, so I guess this will conclude my first post here! I don't have a schedule for when I will upload next (this was super spontaneous) but I am really digging this! Maybe blogging is my new thing! Let's see. . .I will probably write a post with my opinions on the TDM trailer that comes out in a week, so you have that to look forward to! Otherwise, random posts will pop up here every once in a while. You can subscribe to my blog so you'll never miss an update or other announcements I might make!

(PPS; I'm sitting cross-legged in my bed right now, and I've spotted a bruise on my knee. Does that happen to you too? Finding mysterious cuts and bruises all over your body and having no idea what caused it? It happens to me all the time!)
